October Spirit Days
Get ready to show off your school pride this month! Our Gr 6 Leadership Team has put together three awesome theme days for October. Participation is completely optional, but the fun is guaranteed:
- Wednesday, Oct 21 – Crazy Spooky Hair Day: Break out the hair gel, wild colors, and creepy accessories.
- Friday, Oct 30 – Costume Day: Wear your favorite Halloween costume to school and get into the spooky Halloween spirit!
Halloween Dress Up
Halloween will continue to be a day of learning at Woodbine School. Students are welcome to wear their costumes – we encourage students to wear their costume over their regular clothes or bring a change of clothes in the event that they become uncomfortable or find that it interferes with activities like PE or outdoor play. The guidelines for costumes are:
No weapons
No masks – faces must be visible
No fake blood/gore with Halloween makeup
All costumes should be culturally sensitive
Wear at your own risk – the school is not responsible for lost costume pieces or any damage to costumes
Remind your child to bring their costume and accessories home at the end of the day
Please do not send candy or treats to school with your child, as several students have food allergies. Thank you for your understanding.
The Parent Association’s 18th charity casino fundraiser - Oct 24-25
Thank you to all of the volunteers who have stepped up BIG for the casino fundraiser. All primary roles are now filled and we have backup spots that remain available. If you sign up for one of these backup positions, you are only called upon if someone becomes unavailable for that time slot.
All volunteers will receive an email soon including more details and direct contact information.
