September in CSSI
What a wonderful first month we’ve had together at school! Our focus this September has been on helping everyone transition smoothly into the school environment, and we’re proud to say it was a success. The staff has truly enjoyed getting to know each of our students, and we’re so excited to continue building those connections and learning more about each child as the year unfolds.
Of course, with new beginnings can come some big feelings, and we spent time supporting our students in recognizing and regulating those emotions. It’s been inspiring to see them start to find strategies that work for them, helping everyone feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
Throughout September, we’ll be focusing on establishing classroom routines and expectations so that all students feel comfortable and confident in their learning environment. So far, we have kicked things off with a variety of fun activities, including bin learning activities, whole-group games, art projects, and even some refreshing walks outside. It’s been a joyful and engaging way to start the year together!
We’re looking forward to many more weeks of growth, fun, and learning as we settle into the school year. Thank you for your continued support; we can’t wait to see all that this year will bring!

Additional supports from multi-disciplinary team members may include consultation and collaboration with behaviour support workers, specialists, strategists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physiotherapists and psychologists.
