Food Drive
As part of Woodbine’s Wellness Curriculum to be kind to others, we are having a Reverse Advent Calendar Food Drive. Instead of getting a gift each day like a typical advent calendar we are giving a gift of food each day to support the Calgary Food Bank. Please click HERE for suggested donation items. You are welcome to donate any non-perishable items, however please no glass jars.
We will be competing in Den Groups to see which Den is able to bring the most items. The winning Den will win a popcorn movie afternoon in the new year.
Thank you for your support in teaching the importance of giving and helping others.
Message from our Area Office to Parents
I would like to take this opportunity to share that Principal Sprong will not be returning to Woodbine School. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Principal Sprong for his leadership and also let our community know that we will be posting the principal position on December 8. We anticipate that we will be able to share an announcement of the incoming principal prior to the winter break.
An important part of the process for preparing a new principal to join a school is to gather input from our school community. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us understand the qualities and priorities that matter most to you. This information will be carefully reviewed and shared with the incoming Principal to support a smooth and thoughtful transition.

Sledding at Woodbine School
Woodbine School has a great hill for sliding and sledding. We permit safe sliding, feet first during recess and lunch recess. However sledding is not permitted at any time when staff are on supervision (morning entry, recess, lunch). All students are aware of this rule. The school and classrooms do not have space to store sleds for after school activities.
Lost & Found
Last day to check out items in our Lost & Found area will be December 18. Items left over end of day will be donated. Items labelled with student names will be returned to their owners.
Extended Vacations
If your family will be taking an extended vacation over the winter break, please complete and return an Extended Absence Form to the office.
Outstanding Fees
As we close out of 2025, please take a moment to review your MyCBE account. There are a number of outstanding school field trip fees which remain unpaid. We ask that field trip fees are paid prior to the event taking place as our school has had pay the cost of the field trip in advance. Please pay online via your MyCBE account. Thank you for your attention to this.
CBE has loaded lunchroom fees on to student accounts. Students in Grades 1-6 who stay at school for lunch must register for the lunch program via your MyCBE account.
Kindergarten Registration for 2026-27 school year
Beginning January 12, 2026, registration opens for Kindergarten, as well as for new Grade 1-12 students, for the 2026-27 school year. Children are eligible for Kindergarten in September 2026 if they turn five years old on or before December 31, 2026.
