Classroom Blogs: Important Updates and Dates 

All communication regarding classroom updates, important dates, and upcoming events will be posted on your child’s classroom blog. Classroom blogs will be updated every two weeks so families can stay informed about what is happening in the classroom. 

How to Access the Grade Team Blogs 

You can access the Grade Team Blogs by clicking here. 

You can also find them through the Woodbine CBE website: 

1. Go to the Teaching and Learning tab. 
2. Select Teacher Pages and Blogs. 
3. Across the top of the page, you will see a banner with links to each grade team. 
4. Select your child’s grade to access their classroom blog. 

We encourage families to check the classroom blog regularly for the latest updates, information, and important dates. 

Staggered Kindergarten Entry 

Please refer to the schedule above and previous e-mails that have been sent out about Day 1 for our kindergarten students.  Please refer to the kindergarten calendar for specific details regarding when AM and PM have kindergarten on Fridays (as it alternates), https://woodbine.cbe.ab.ca/calendar 

• School Council will set up the learning commons if you like to drop off your child and stop by 
• You can also stop by the office if you have any questions 

Morning Supervision and School Start 

Morning outdoor supervision starts at 8:49 am, please do not have students arrive before that. Doors open for the school at 9:04 AM and class starts promptly at 9:06 AM 

Walking Bikes/Scooters 

We encourage students to bike/scooter to school.  Please remind your child that once on school property, students need to walk their bike/scooter and ensure to lock them up.  

Intro E-mail from teacher  

Please be on the lookout for your introductory e-mail from your child's teacher which will be sent out later this afternoon.  If you don't receive one, please e-mail the office: woodbine@cbe.ab.ca.  

Grade 1 

Before the summer break we were fortunate to receive class size reduction funding to hire Ms. Greig in Grade 1.  We are very pleased to welcome her to our school community! The Grade 1 team will be working closely together to support students with flexible groupings, team teaching, and regrouping.  As we do not have space to create another classroom the students will be allocated in two classrooms with a flexible space in the learning commons.  Students have an assigned teacher who is your point of contact for all things.

First Week Lunch Supervision  

Lunch registration forms for the upcoming school year have not yet been loaded into SchoolEngage. Students are still welcome to stay for lunch starting next week. Please keep an eye out for an update once the forms are live in your account. 

Student Code of Conduct 

Staff have worked together to create a Student Code of Conduct, to ensure our students are an active part of creating a safe and caring welcoming environment here at Woodbine.  

Dare to Care Lessons  

Welcome to Dare to Care's Parent Module on Bullying Prevention! 

Woodbine will be using this program with all students this year.  

As a parent of Woodbine School, you have access to Dare to Care's Parent Bullying Prevention module until June 30/27. 

Steps to Accessing the Dare to Care Parent Module:  

• Click on this link:https://daretocare.learnworlds.com 
• Click Sign in/Sign up in the upper right hand corner 
• Click on Create an Account in red at the bottom left (enter your name, school name and email) . Fill out all requested information Including the addition of this code: CBEWood26PAR 
• Your courses will not appear immediately, please allow 24 hours for Dare to Care to confirm your account. Once confirmed, your courses will appear in the My Courses menu section. (You may need to refresh your course page to view it). 

Parking Lot and Bus Zone Restrictions 

At Woodbine School, the safety of our students, families, and staff is our absolute top priority.  

• Staff Parking Lot: This lot is strictly for staff members only. Our staff comes and goes at various times throughout the day, and this area is not to be used for student drop-off or pick-up at any time. 
• Bus Zone: This zone is reserved entirely for our school buses, CSSI student transport, daycare buses, and our community partnership organizations. These vehicles require dedicated access to safely transport students, and parents are not permitted to park or drop off children in the bus zone.  

We love our school community and want to ensure every student arrives and leaves safely each day. Thank you for your immediate cooperation and for helping us keep our parking lot safe.
