National Indigenous People’s Day
Starting us off in a good way- Elder Clarence Wolfleg taught Woodbine students and staff some valuable lessons today and performed the Break Song, Grass Dance Song, and a Round Dance. He taught us that when you hear drumming and songs, it’s copying the first sound we ever hear: our mother’s heartbeat. We carry that rhythm within us still. It’s an honor to the women - for giving us light and nurturing our families.
Elder Clarance Wolfleg also taught us the word kakyosin- a teaching deeply rooted in awareness. To be aware of yourself, your relationships, and your community. From this land and from each other we can always be learning.
We will carry these teaching with humility, walk gently, and continue to listen with open hearts.
Upcoming School Spirit Days
Posters are displayed around the school with more details and reminders about these fun-filled days. Everyone is welcome to participate and show their school spirit, but please remember that participation is completely optional.
Crocs and Socks Day – Thur June 26 – Wear crazy socks and crocs or sandals!
Collect Student Medication – June 26
Just a friendly reminder, if you have medication stored at the office for your child, please arrange to collect this prior to the last day of school – June 26, 12:50 pm (early dismissal).
2025-2026 Transportation Registration Now Open:
Registration for yellow school bus transportation is now open until June 22 – register via your MyCBE account.
Families must register by Sunday, June 22, 2025 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.
Lost and Found Donation on June 24
Final call…come one! Come all!
Our lost and found collection will be packed and donated on June 24.
We kindly request that you have your child check the lost and found items thoroughly before this date. We will do our best to return items that are clearly labeled with a student's name before being packed and donated.
Report Cards Available June 25
Families will be able to view online student report cards for all K-12 students through MyCBE starting on June 25, 2025. Report Cards for the 2024-25 school year can only be viewed, downloaded, or printed until July 25, 2025, 08:00 am.
Outstanding Fees – Deadline June 30, 2025
Just a friendly reminder to pay your central and school-based fees before June 30, 2025.

Healthy Hunger – June 25 – A&W
Please go to www.healthyhunger.ca All orders for the above must be placed 5 days prior to the event. Once the order is closed no changes or cancellations can be accepted. Please remember that no food should be ordered from Skip the Dishes Door Dash etc, or any other restaurant on that day, for distribution to our students – let’s make this event special by enjoying the food available from Healthy Hunger and place your order before the deadline.
