Scholastic Book Fair
Thank you to everyone who purchased from our Scholastic Book Fair. We will be adding new books to our school library thanks to you! Special thanks to Mrs D, our Library Assistant, Steph A and Zenon P for making this a successful event for our school. We appreciate all the volunteers who signed up for a slot to help out – we truly couldn’t do this without you.
Planning for 2025-26
Please continue to send in your intentions for next year. We are beginning the process of preparing for the next school year and it is very important to be able to plan for the correct number of students. If you are planning to move schools and are staying within the CBE, please contact the office so that we can support you with the necessary documents and guidance.
Student Lunches and Snacks
We have recently noticed an increase in the number of students who are coming to school without lunches and snacks. We would like to remind all families that a healthy lunch and snacks for the day are an important part of being ready for learning. Please let us know if you are experiencing difficulty in providing lunch and snack for your children. We have resources that we can request if this is needed for your child.
Registration is now open for My 1st Ride Orientation Program
The Calgary Board of Education, along with our partners, are pleased to offer a school bus orientation program called My 1st Ride. This program is designed to familiarize students with the experience of taking the yellow bus to and from school on a regular basis.
The orientation is aimed at first-time riders, students with special transportation needs and older students who are using transportation for the first time. Each group is offered an orientation session to meet their diverse needs.
The orientation consists of a 20-minute presentation followed by a short ride on a school bus. Each new rider will be given a certificate of completion.
Participants must register in advance. Spots are limited and are on a first-come, first-served basis. When registering for My 1st Ride orientation, please select one ticket per student attending, parents and siblings do not require a ticket.
The sessions run every half hour between 9 am - 3 pm. Each session will take approximately 1 hour. There is no cost for this event.
Please use the link about to register on one of the two sessions being offered on either May 24 or May 25.
Call for Experts
We’re excited to share that we’re planning a renovation of our Learning Commons/Library to create a modern, flexible, and inspiring space that fosters creativity, collaboration, and a love of learning.
To support this project and potential grant applications, we’re looking for a volunteer with experience in space planning, architecture, or interior design to help us develop a thoughtful and functional blueprint.
If you or someone you know is interested in contributing, please contact Jessica Coppens at jecoppens@cbe.ab.ca by April 30, 2025.
Thank you for your continued support in helping our school grow and thrive.
