School Update:
Mr. Sprong has been called away unexpectedly. The good news is that Principal, Jeff Hutton will be returning in his absence, he will be joining us on Monday. Mr. Hutton was our acting principal for the second half of the 2024-2025 school year when Mrs. Fraser transitioned out of Woodbine. He is looking forward to connecting back with the school and the community.
IPP:
Save the Date – IPP Family-Teacher Sessions- September 29!
If your child is on an IPP, you will soon receive an email invitation from your child’s teacher to attend a family-teacher working session. These sessions will take place on Friday, September 29, which is a non-instructional day. This is an opportunity to collaborate in building your child’s IPP goals for the year. By waiting until this date, teachers have the best opportunity to get to know your child as a learner, which leads to more meaningful conversations when building IPP goals together.
Welcome Back BBQ: Save the Date!
Woodbine School is excited to welcome parents and families for a Community Gathering on Wednesday, September 25. Come join us —we can’t wait to see you there!
Reporting Absences / Lates:
If your child is going to be late or absent, please either call the school office 403-777-8630 Ext. 1 or email woodbine@cbe.ab.ca. Please speak clearly and slowly when leaving a message and include:

2. Teacher's name
3. Reason for the absence or late
It is helpful if you can please email your child's teacher and the School Office woodbine@cbe.ab.ca if you are picking your child up early from school.

Our school is once again participating in the annual Terry Fox School Run to continue the legacy of a true Canadian hero. We're proud to join thousands of schools across the country in this tradition, raising funds for cancer research.
More details will follow soon - every donation, no matter how small, makes a significant difference.
Please use our dedicated fundraising link should you wish to make a donation https://schools.terryfox.ca/98208

Fun Lunches:
We're gearing up for another year of Fun Lunch, and we need your help to make it a success! Just like last year, this popular program is entirely run by parent volunteers.

Thank you for your support! If you can spare some time for this much loved event please see the sign up link on the Healthy Hunger website. Healthy Hunger

CBE Days of Significance:
The CBE is committed to building a culture of appreciation and inclusion, where students and staff can see themselves valued, respected and celebrated. For more information on key dates, please visit the CBE Dates of Significance webpage
Spare Clothing:
We would appreciate parents having an extra change of clothes in your child’s backpack in the event of and accident or spill at school. Children are often more comfortable changing into something of their own rather than something from the school. Additionally, our sizes are limited and we may not be able to accommodate all students’ needs. This is especially important in the younger grades.
School Council:
Our first School Council meeting will be held in person on Oct 2 at 6pm at Woodbine School, we encourage all parents to join us!
