School Update:
Online Forms: Each year, schools have a variety of forms that parents/legal guardians are required to complete or review and update, some of which are paper and others online. In CBE, the forms are in an online format (SchoolEngage) are:
§ Demographic Verification - 2024-25 – This form includes your child’s personal information as well as parent/legal guardian contact information.
§ Citizenship Information Update - 2024-25 – This form becomes available if you change your child’s citizenship information on the Demographic Verification form.
§ Annual Authorization - 2024-25 – Combines the following forms:
- School District Use of Personal Information - explains how CBE uses personal information in providing education services.
- Consent for CBE Use of Student Information – provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by school/district and third parties.
- Consent for Use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups (Third Party) - provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by outside groups and third parties
SchoolEngage is one of the applications found in your MyCBE account. This is the same account that you use to pay fees, view academic information, book school conferences, etc.
If you do not have a MyCBE account, on the MyCBE page click on Create a MyCBE Account. For online help refer, to MyCBE - Creating an Account (includes instructions and a video).
To complete these forms:
1 | sign in to your MyCBE account
2 | click on the SchoolEngage icon
3 | select the form
4 | complete or review and update the form
5 | click on Submit to send the form electronically to the school
6 | repeat steps 3-5 for each form
Please submit the Demographic Verification and Annual Authorization forms in SchoolEngage for your child by Monday, September 16. These forms are mandatory every year for Alberta Education to confirm student funding. Thank you for completing them.
If you have any other students with the Calgary Board of Education, you may proceed with completing their forms too.
Thank those families who have already completed forms for their children.
Healthy Hunger: Our next Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch is September 25 with Subway! To order your child’s lunches, please set up an account at https://healthyhunger.ca. All orders close 5 days before the lunch so please order in advance. Once the order is closed no changes or cancellations can be accepted.
Medical Forms: If your child(ren) have any medical or physical conditions that the school needs to be aware of please fill out and return the Student Health Plan and send it to school. If your child has a significant health concern and/or medication is required to be administered at school you will also need to complete and return a Student Health Emergency Response Protocol form. Transportation: Yellow School Bus Route and Stop Information for 2024-2025 Now Available
CBE Transportation has released the yellow school bus routes and stop information for the 2024-25 school year. Families can access this information exclusively through their MyCBE account under “Bus Routes and Stops." Please note that only registered riders should use transportation services, and route updates for new registrations may take up to six weeks to process.
As the school year begins, be prepared for potential transportation delays or cancellations due to ongoing driver shortages. Families will receive a transportation registration confirmation email in September, with fees posted in MyCBE by mid-October. Cancellations without financial impact are available until the end of September.
For more details, please review the Transportation Family Checklist.
If your child is not riding the bus home, please notify the office before 3:00 pm so that our office staff can update attendance.
Important Traffic Update for the Upcoming School Year: Along with the City of Calgary, we are excited to announce the implementation of a new passenger loading zone, otherwise called the “Hug and Go” Zone on Woodfield Way SW, located just north of the existing bus loading area. This zone will accommodate approximately 10 vehicles at a time, providing a convenient space for parents to safely drop off their children before continuing on their way. This initiative is designed to help alleviate traffic congestion and reduce parking challenges around the school. While the installation of signs is planned, the City of Calgary has yet to confirm the exact installation date.
The "Hug and Go" zone is intended for quick drop-offs and pick-ups only, with a maximum stop time of 3 minutes. Please note that parking is not permitted in this area during school hours. If you choose not to use the "Hug and Go" zone, we ask that you park on nearby streets that are non-zoned and unmarked for drop-off and pick-up. It is essential to follow all traffic signs and regulations to ensure the safety of our entire school community.
Safety remains our top priority. Until the “Hug and Go” zone is fully operational, we will have a staff member supervising the north crosswalks to ensure student safety. We kindly ask all parents and guardians to exercise caution when approaching the school. Please observe speed limits, parking rules, bus zones, crosswalks, and always respect our staff and students. Your cooperation is vital in creating a secure environment for our students.
Please remember that the staff parking lot is strictly off-limits for student drop-off or pick-up, including before and after school care. Your adherence to all signage and regulations helps maintain a safe and orderly environment around the school. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community safe.
