School Update:
Dear Woodbine Families,
I want to begin by thanking everyone for the wonderful send-off yesterday and all the surprises that came with it. The past four years at Woodbine have been truly special, and I am so grateful to have been part of this incredible community.
I will always cherish the memories we’ve made together—from cheering on students during skating and swimming trips to celebrating creativity in Art Club, feeling the excitement of dance performances, and experiencing the energy of Sports Day and our unforgettable tug-of-war battles! But above all, I am most thankful for the everyday moments—watching our students learn, grow, and develop into kind, curious, and capable individuals.
It has been an absolute pleasure to be part of your child’s and Woodbine’s educational journey, and this school will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for your support, kindness, and the many wonderful memories we have created together.
As Dr. Seuss once said, "You're off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so... get on your way!" Woodbine is filled with bright, talented, and resilient students, and I know they will continue to accomplish great things.
Wishing all of you continued success and happiness.
With gratitude,
Ms. Fraser
Principal, Woodbine School

CUPE Local 40 Job Action:
As you are likely aware, CUPE Local 40 members have served a strike notice to the Calgary Board of Education (CBE). The union, which includes school facilities and cleaning staff, is set to withdraw services on Monday, February 24. Information to families regarding the strike action will be communicated centrally by the CBE – not by individual schools. The following link will take you to information and updates regarding the strike: CBE Labour Action Page. Please take a moment to look at the information in the above link and check it regularly for updates. School
School Planning Survey: At Woodbine School, we hold the firm belief that families are pivotal to the academic success of children. We are asking that you participate in a short survey that opens February 18, 2025 - 03:00 PM and closes on March 28, 2025 - 11:59 PM. The purpose of this survey is to gather feedback from families on school planning, which includes the school development plan, school budget, and school fees. When students, staff and families work closely together, students experience greater success.
