Principal Survey:
As part of the process to select a new principal for Woodbine School, the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) is seeking input from parents and staff regarding the programming and leadership qualities that are most important to you. This feedback will be an integral part of the hiring process. The survey opened on Friday, February 7 and remains open until Friday, February 21. We encourage you to share your insights by completing the survey at the following link: Principal Survey
School Planning Engagement | February 20
On February 20 at 6:00 pm, prior to the School Council meeting, we will be sharing information about how the school budget, fees to parents and School Development Planning.
Additionally, there will be a presentation on the School Development Plan. Watch thisshort video to learn about the planning work schools do to improve and support student learning. Our School Improvement Results and Development Plan as well as the Report to Parents on Fees can be viewed on our school website’s Our School page. The documents are on the right side of the page.

2025-26 School Year:
Planning for the 2025-26 school year is underway – please let us know if your child is returning to us for September 2025 or, if not, which school they will be attending in September. Forms are coming home – please look out for them and return to the School Office by Feb 12. Thank you.
Registration 2025-26:
Registration for the 2025-26 school year opened on Monday, January 13. Parents can find information on Kindergarten registration on the public CBE website.
If you are returning to Woodbine School in the fall, you do not need to register again. If your Grade 6 student is moving to John Ware School in the fall they will automatically be designed to that school for Grade 7.
Blue Dot Days:
When temperatures (including windchill) are -20 or colder – a reminder that the earliest time students can be dropped off and enter the school is 8:40 am when supervision begins.
Help Organize Our School’s Resource Storage Rooms!:
We are looking for parent volunteers to assist with organizing and cataloging materials in our subject resource storage rooms, including the science storage room. Volunteers will help sort materials, label items, and create an inventory list to ensure teachers and students have easy access to the resources they need. Your support will make a big impact on keeping our classrooms running smoothly!
To make volunteering convenient, we have included more sign-up spots than needed—just choose a date and time that works best for you. If you’re interested, please sign up using the link below and include your availability:

School Council/Association:
Our next school council/association meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 20 at 6:00 pm. We look forward to you joining us. Teaching staff attend these meetings and provide an update on what is happening in their grade.

Our next Healthy Hunger date is: February 27 (A&W). Remember to place your orders 5 days before the lunch event. Once the order is closed no changes or cancellations can be accepted. Please remember Skip the Dishes, DoorDash, etc. are not allowed at our school or 1stclassdaycare. We cannot accept these deliveries and any orders will be returned.
