Safe Travel Survey: Help us enhance the daily commute for students, staff, and families. Action| Unpaid field trip fees: Field trips and out-of-school experiences are an essential part of our students’ learning, offering opportunities for hands-on exploration and discovery. However, we currently have over $4,000 in unpaid field trip fees.
We kindly ask that you check your MyCBE account and settle any outstanding amounts as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the school cannot cover the cost of these trips, and if unpaid fees continue to accumulate, we will be unable to organize future field trips.
We appreciate your understanding and support. Our goal is to continue providing enriching learning experiences for all students, and we need your help to make this possible.
Lost and Found: Our lost and found area is on the increase with a number of items being left outside, in the gym etc. Families can help prevent the overflow of Lost and Found by labelling as many items as possible. Please label: coats, snow pants, hoodies, shoes, boots, backpack, water bottles and lunch kit. Any named items will be taken back to their owner.
Terry Fox Fundraising: Thank you to all our families who were able to join us for the Terry Fox Run. The final fundraised amount for Woodbine School is: $2215. Well done everyone in helping us to reach that goal. Our students will be rewarded with a movie party (date to be decided) and enjoyed a PJ day on today.
Late Arrival Procedures: We are experiencing a high number of late students. Being late adds to anxiety and stress and it disrupts the classroom. If your student arrives late to school and their entry door is locked, please enter the school through the front door and check-in at the office. We kindly ask that you say goodbye at the front door, as our staff will be happy to escort your child to their classroom if they need assistance. This process helps ensure a smooth transition for your child and allows us to maintain accurate attendance
records. Thank you for your co-operation in ensuring a smooth start to the school day.
Urgent: Demographic Verification Forms Compliance: The deadline for K – 6 families to complete Demographic Verification Forms has passed and online forms are now overdue. At this time, approximately 35% of students do not have a completed Demographic Verification Form for the 2024-25 school year.
CBE will continue to send reminders throughout October - it is important to recognize these forms are a legal requirement from Alberta Education for funding purposes. If forms remain incomplete, it may result in funding reduction for the Calgary Board of Education.
