School Update:
Leadership Change:
It is with mixed emotions that I share the news of my departure from Woodbine School as I transition to a new leadership opportunity at a Middle School. My official last day will be February 28, 2025. While I am excited for the next chapter in my career, I will always carry fond memories of my time at Woodbine.
Reflecting on my years here, I am incredibly grateful for the experiences and relationships that have made this school such a special place. From the energy of the Sound Creation Dance concerts, to learning to skate, to the excitement of attending Minecraft awards, from the joy of Cultural Night to the camaraderie of leading the CrossFit and Art Clubs, each moment has reinforced my deep appreciation for our vibrant school community. Most of all, I will cherish the opportunity to work alongside our brilliant teachers, dedicated school council, and, of course, my favorite part of Woodbine—the students.
To ensure a smooth transition, I will be collaborating with Education Director Michelle Howell and Assistant Principal Cheryl Rosenbaum to support the incoming Principal. I am confident that Woodbine will continue to thrive under new leadership and maintain its strong commitment to student success.
As part of the process to select a new principal for Woodbine School, the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) is seeking input from parents and staff regarding the programming and leadership qualities that are most important to you. This feedback will be an integral part of the hiring process. The survey will open on Friday, February 7 and remain open until Friday, February 21. To the students, staff, and families of Woodbine, thank you for the trust, support, and countless memories. It has been an honor to serve as your Principal, and I look forward to seeing the continued achievements of this exceptional school community.
Help Organize Our School’s Resource Storage Rooms!: We are looking for parent volunteers to assist with organizing and cataloging materials in our subject resource storage rooms, including the science storage room. Volunteers will help sort materials, label items, and create an inventory list to ensure teachers and students have easy access to the resources they need. Your support will make a big impact on keeping our classrooms running smoothly!

Yearbook Cover Contest – Calling All Woodbine Artists!: Woodbine School is excited to announce our Annual Yearbook Cover Contest! This is your chance to showcase your creativity and have your artwork featured on the cover of the 2024-2025 Woodbine School Yearbook!
🔹 Contest Dates: February 3-12, 2025
🔹 Requirements:
✅ Your design must include “Woodbine School” and “2024-2025” in the title.
✅ Your artwork should represent our school community in a creative and meaningful way.
✅ Submit your original design on an 8.5” x 11” page.
How to Enter:
📌 Write your name and grade clearly on the back of your submission.
📌 Drop off your entry to Mrs. Fraser in the office by February 12, 2025.
We can’t wait to see the amazing designs from our talented students! The winning cover will be featured on this year’s yearbook, and the artist will receive special recognition.

2025-26 School Year: Planning for the 2025-26 school year is underway – please let us know if your child is returning to us for September 2025 or, if not, which school they will be attending in September. Forms are coming home – please look out for them and return to the School Office by Feb 12. Thank you.
Registration 2025-26: registration for the 2025-26 school year opened on Monday, January 13.
Parents can find information on Kindergarten registration on the public CBE website.
If you are returning to Woodbine School in the fall you do not need to register again. If your Grade 6 student is moving to John Ware School in the fall they will automatically be designed to that school for Grade 7.

Once the order is closed no changes or cancellations can be accepted. Skip the Dishes, DoorDash etc are not allowed at our school or 1stclassdaycare. We cannot accept these deliveries and any orders will be returned.
