Dogs on School Property:
In accordance with the City of Calgary’s Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw, dogs are not permitted on school grounds (including playgrounds, fields, and sidewalks directly on school property).

We kindly ask that when dropping off or picking up your children, you secure your dog outside the school grounds in a safe location so that all students, staff, and families can move safely.

This rule is in place to:

• Maintain a safe environment
• Prevent interference with school operations
• Comply with municipal regulations

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Terry Fox Run:
Heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this year's Terry Fox Run such a phenomenal success!

The beautiful weather was the perfect backdrop for an inspiring day as our students came together to honor Terry Fox's incredible legacy and celebrate our school community.

A special thank you to our Grade 4 teachers and students for their hard work in planning and organizing the run, including their care for our newest runners in Kindergarten.

We are truly grateful to everyone who has already generously donated. If you haven't yet, you can still support this important cause by clicking here:  https://schools.terryfox.ca/98208]

Truth and Reconciliation:
Next week, CBE schools will observe Truth and Reconciliation Week to reflect on the history and legacy of residential schools in Canada. Students will engage in age-appropriate lessons to promote understanding, empathy, and respect as we work toward reconciliation.

To honor the experiences of survivors and their families, we invite all students and staff to wear an orange shirt on Wednesday, October 1.

Additionally, all staff, students, families, and friends are invited to continue their learning and show support at the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation & Orange Shirt Day event on Tuesday, September 30 (9:00 - 10:30 a.m.) at the Confluence Historic Site in downtown Calgary. This important event is a collaboration with the City of Calgary, CBE, and other partners.

To learn more, please visit the City of Calgary Orange Shirt Day website.  https://www.calgary.ca/events/orange-shirt-day.html

Annual Online Forms:
Thank you to those who have completed the online demographic forms for their children. These forms are a legal requirement from Alberta Education for funding purposes. If forms remain incomplete, it may result in a reduction in funding for the Calgary Board of Education and Woodbine School. Please ensure that you have logged into your child’s MyCBE account to complete the forms for this school year. Thank you for your cooperation.

Child and Youth Family and Caregiver Series:
The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join a live online series on supporting child and youth well-being. The series is hosted by the Recovery Alberta Community Education Service (CES) Program in collaboration with local experts from the Calgary community.

Additional session details are available on the Child and Youth Family and Caregiver Series public facing page.

Healthy Hunger – Grade 1 and Grade 2 Families:
Please ensure your Grade 1 and/or Grade 2 student are registered to the correct teacher in your Healthy Hunger account. If you could update your child’s teacher in account settings this will ensure there is no delay in lunch deliveries.

To update emergency contacts or other personal information, please complete a new demographic form in your MyCBE account. Unfortunately, we can't accept changes via email or over the phone.
