School Update:
Halloween Treats & School Lunches: As Halloween wraps up, we understand the excitement of enjoying those well-earned treats! However, we kindly ask that students bring only one Halloween treat per day in their lunch. Too much sugar can affect their focus and energy, impacting their learning throughout the day. Additionally, we are noticing an increase in students coming to the office for extra snacks. This may be due to growth spurts, so we encourage families to check lunches and consider including a few extra healthy options. Thank you for your support in helping our students thrive!
Thank You: A big thank you to our Parent Association for organizing the Halloween Dance. It was nice to hear that this was well attended and, again, a huge thank you to the volunteers who made this a successful evening.
Remembrance Day Assembly: We warmly invite you to join us for our annual Remembrance Day assembly, taking place on Tuesday, November 7 at 10:30 am. This gathering is an important moment for our school to come together in remembrance and gratitude for the sacrifices made by those who served, and continue to serve, in the Canadian Armed Forces. This year, we are honored to pay special tribute to Indigenous veterans who bravely contributed to Canada’s legacy of service, alongside other veterans and active members.
Lost and Found: The lost and found is overflowing. Please stop in if you are able to take a look! Anything left over will be donated on November 8. Named items will be delivered back to their owner.
Retake Day – Nov 7: If your child missed picture day or you would like your child to have their school picture re-taken on November 7 – please remind your child that retakes will be done on November 7.
Lifetouch Photos- School pictures are ready: Your child should have brought home their school photos last week. Orders can be placed online via Lifetouch website (see envelope sent home for full ordering instructions).
Lost and Found: Please have your child check the overflowing Lost and Found for any missing items. All unclaimed items will be donated on November 8. Remember to label all belongings with your child’s name to help us return them before donation. Thank you!
Healthy Hunger Notifications: To receive reminders and notifications please sign in to your Healthy Hunger account – go to Settings – My Account – put a check mark in “Email Reminders” and “You school has posted a new order”
2024-25 Annual Volunteer Form: If you already have a valid police clearance there is no need for you to re-apply via SchoolEngage. Your clearance is valid for 5 years. Next Parent Playground Committee Meeting: Thank you everyone for your efforts in raising money towards the Woodbine School Playground! Efforts will continue this year. Stay tuned and watch for the Playground Booth at Woodbine School Events.
