School Update:
Learning Celebrations: Students are engaged in a myriad of wonderful learning experiences that foster both academic growth and personal development. Across grade levels, students are actively involved in diverse activities that ignite their curiosity and creativity. For instance, our students are exemplifying kindness through thoughtful actions and documenting their acts of compassion. In Grade 1, young learners are delving into language exploration by dissecting their first names to uncover words formed by blends or digraphs. Meanwhile, Grade 2 students are sharpening their math skills by comparing grocery prices between different regions, offering them a real-world context for learning. In Grade 3, students are immersing themselves in fascinating research projects centered around animals from various countries, broadening their understanding of global biodiversity. Grade 4 students are mastering the art of music as they develop their recorder skills, earning achievements with each level they conquer. Kindergarten students are refining their balance and core strength through gymnastics activities, fostering physical development alongside cognitive growth. Furthermore, our Grade 5 and 6 students are honing their writing abilities by utilizing picture prompts to craft compelling story element essays, enhancing their narrative skills and imagination. As we look ahead, Woodbine School eagerly anticipates connecting with parents during upcoming parent-teacher conferences and hosting our much-anticipated annual Book Fair, further fostering a sense of community engagement and love for learning within our school environment.

Woodbine Parent Association Update:
Pub Night and Silent Auction: Woodbine School's playground, which sees countless hours of use by the community, needs your help. Years of active play have taken their toll, and we're aiming to replace the equipment with new, safe structures and a modernized rubber ground surface. We, the Woodbine School Parent's Association are passionate about creating a stimulating environment for our children and community.
To help achieve our fundraising goals, we are pleased to be hosting our First Annual Pub Night on May 25, 2024 at The Point Public House.
Come on out and support the Parent Association while enjoying some great food and a chance to mingle with other parents and community members. All proceeds will go towards our initiatives including the new playground. Please see the attached flyer for all the details. Tickets are limited – click HERE to purchase!
In conjunction with the Pub Night, we will also be hosting a silent auction. We are currently seeking donations to help ensure a successful auction. If you are able to make a donation personally or through a business, please reach out to Christine and Janey at woodbinepa@gmail.com.
We look forward to seeing you on May 25! Thank you for your support from all at Woodbine Parent's Association and Playground Committee.
